| Gazelle's innovative bicycle shopping trolley |
|
To encourage everyone to leave the car at home and use a bike to go shopping instead, Gazelle is testing in conjunction with The Netherland's largest supermarket chain, Albert Heijn and the Council of Apeldoorn, a new design of shopping trolley called the 'iShop'. You do not need a shopping trolley anymore because this bag doubles as a trolley; just detach the bag from your bike, take it with you shopping and when finished, easily click onto your bike and ride home with your groceries. If the trial is successful, Gazelle is planning to start producing these carriers in 6 months. The article also says; 1. The trolley weighs 8.5kg and has a capacity of 30kgs. 2. The iShop has an aluminium frame with canvas with PVC coating. Also includes a raincover. 3. 50 iShops are being trialed in the town of Apeldoorn. If successful, Gazelle will start selling the iShops in 6 months time. 4. The mounting system is fastened on the rear rack of the bicycle. Click here to download the Dutch article with pictures. |
